Jim joined Cassady Schiller in September 2015 and brought over 30 years of experience in the wealth management and public accounting industries. He uses his extensive investment, income tax, estate tax, and financial planning skills to help clients and emphasizes a collaborative approach with outside advisors.
Jim joined Ernst & Young’s tax department in 1992. During this time, Jim helped establish and grow the Personal Financial Counseling practice for the Ohio Valley region. In 2000, Jim left EY to focus on his investment and wealth management skills. Before joining Cassady Schiller, Jim was a Principal and Portfolio Manager at Johnson Investment Counsel in Cincinnati, where he worked primarily with high and ultra-high net worth individuals.
In addition to his CPA designation, Jim holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, and the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation. Jim has been named a Five Star Wealth Manager by Cincinnati Magazine numerous times.
Jim graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA), the CFA Institute, and the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA®). Jim was a former participant in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program and a former board member for Madcap Puppets. He currently serves as a Northminster Presbyterian Church Elder.
